WELCOME TO THE FAMILY
GOD

We believe that accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the greatest decision that you will make.

But this is the beginning and there is SO MUCH MORE than reciting a prayer and accepting Jesus as your Savior.  Jesus wants to have a relationship with you.  Just as you would talk to a friend, Jesus wants to talk with you.  We want to briefly touch on a few things below as you start this new journey.

The word “saved” in Greek is Sozo.  Sozo also means to heal and to deliver.  Salvation is a package deal.  Yes, Jesus died on the cross so your sins would be forgiven but also for healing in your body.  He also died on the cross so that you could be free from tormenting thoughts in your mind.

Within salvation, there are 3 parts.  Justification, sanctification, and glorification.

Justification

The Greek word for Justification is Diakaiosis – the act of God declaring men acceptable to Him, counting them righteous and free from guilt. This is what happens at the moment of salvation.

Romans 3:24-25 NLT

24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past.

Sanctification

Sanctification comes from the Greek word Hagiasmos, which means consecration, a separation unto God.  It is stepping away from who you once were and what you once did.

Luke 9:23-25 NLT

Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. 24 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. 25 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed?

John 8:31-21 NLT

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Glorification

This is the final step we get to take as Christians.  Every person on earth will get to meet our creator face to face.  One day will leave the cares of this world and spend eternity with our savior.

Romans 8:23-25 NLT

And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. 24 We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. 25 But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)

Final Thoughts

We understand you may have questions about your faith or would like someone to pray with.  Feel free to fill out the contact form and we will have someone reach out to you.

You have just begun this amazing journey with Jesus and the most beautiful thing is you don’t have to do it alone.  In the Bible, Hebrews 10 says to not forsake the gathering of the saints.  Which means we are to gather and worship together.  So come join us on Sunday mornings.  You don’t have to dress up or have it all together.  We are a group of people chasing after God and all He has for us.
